Learning Objective 1: ​Identify the types of pathogens that cause communicable disease How to get this done: 1. Read the lesson titled ​What Are Communicable Diseases? 2. Review the guided notes that have been linked to the website. 2. Answer the following questions: a. How would you describe a pathogen to a friend? Draw a picture that you feel represents what a pathogen might look like. b. How would you explain what a communicable disease is to your younger brother or sister (pretend if you don’t have one). c. What are the five different types of pathogens that are defined in the reading? 3. Create a table, chart, or graphic organizer that sorts the five different types of pathogens. In your table or chart be sure to include a description (definition) of the pathogen, examples of diseases caused by each, and whether they are living or nonliving.
