We will have two county practice days at the Columbus Library on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have any questions in reference to getting ready for your project, please call us at 662-328-2111. I would also like to thank Dixie Riders volunteers and club members who attended the 4-H Clover Drive held at the Tractor Supply Company. Over $500 in clovers were sold. An increase from last year’s sale - Wow! 4-H Records and 4-H Resumes It’s that time again to complete your 4-H Record books. 4-H Senior, Volunteer Records, and 4-H Resumes are due in the 4-H Office by Friday, June 26, 2015. Intermediate (12-14), Junior (10-11), and Junior (8-9) records are due in the 4-H Office on July 15, 2015. I encourage you to submit a record book to showcase the knowledge and skills gained in your 4-H project. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the 4-H office. Dairy Product Judging Workshop 4-H/Dairy Poster Contest If you are interested in attending, please contact the 4-H office at The Mississippi 4-H Poster Art 4-H theme is: I AM 4H. The Open theme category, which is another poster contest, allows you to be creative and use your own theme on a 14”x22” dimension poster (1/2 poster). The Dairy Poster theme is: “Get More with Milk” on a full size poster. All posters are due in the 4-H office on May 22, 2015. 662-328-2111. For poster guidelines, contact the 4-H Office. The Dairy Product Judging Workshop will be held on May 19th on the campus of MSU. Page 3 New 4-H Club Welcome to the Wonder World of 4-H! Coleman Head Start Center is now a charted 4-H Cloverbud Club. In awareness of ATV Safety Week an ATV Safety Art Poster Contest is being offered! RULES -There will be three age categories: 8-11, 12-14, and 15-18. -Entries need to be turned in to the State Office no later than May 29. -Entries should illustrate at least one of the Golden Rules of ATV Safety (more information found at www.atvsafety.org) -Entries should be 18”x 24” and can be any type of media (pencils, crayons, markers, paint, etc.) -All entries will be displayed in the lobby of Bost during ATV Safety Week -For more information contact Brad Staton- [email protected] What: ATV and Dirt Bike Safety PSA Contest "Kids Helping Kids Ride Safe/Ride Smart" Who Can Participate: Students: Ages 6 to 18. Students will be grouped according to age ranges: 6-10 years old, 11-14 years old, and 15-18 years old. Contest Dates: June 1, 2014 through August 15, 2014 Prizes: Each age category has a First ($500), Second ($300) and Third ($200) prize. One Grand Prize ($2,500) winner will be selected, all age categories are eligible for the Grand Prize.
