2015-16 Executive Council Application Kit Rules of Procedure 1. Carefully read through your desired position’s description, with particular note to duties & qualifications. 2. Reach out to the current MUS Executive holding this position to gain more insight into the role, how it functions, and the candidate it requires. 3. Submit the following items by Saturday, February 14th at 3pm via email to [email protected] and [email protected]. a. The scanned Applicant’s Agreement Form (page 12 of this package) b. The scanned nomination pages with a minimum of 80 signatures from Management students (it is recommended to have more than the minimum required in case there are problems with some of the signatures). c. A draft Action Plan for your position (found at http://www.musonline.com/draftactionplan.xlsx) 4. Be ready to be interviewed by the incoming Board of Directors on Feb 16-17-18 from 5:30pm onwards. Your specific interview time will be confirmed no later than Sunday Feb 15 at 5:30pm. 5. Decisions will be made on Thursday, Feb 19, after which you will be notified whether or not you received the position. Public announcements will be made at 4a7. 6. If selected, be available for the mandatory Executive Retreat at the McGill Gault Nature Reserve, departing in the afternoon on Friday Feb 20, and returning the morning of Feb 22. 2 Vice-President, Academic Affairs Term Time Commitment Position Summary Portfolio May 1st 2015 – April 30th 2016 Summer: 5-10/hours per week Fall/Winter: 20-30/hours per week The VP Academic is the primary student advocate in the Desautels Faculty of Management on affairs regarding the BCom academic curriculum and Career Services. The VP CR is further responsible for ensuring all Accounts Receivable for the MUS, as well as building relationships with alumni to maximize resources. • • • Corporate Sales Team Accounts Receivable MUS Alumni Board • • • • Be responsible for the annual planning, execution, feedback and evaluation process of the MUS sponsorship strategy Ensure proper liaison, communication and coordination between all the MUS events, portfolios and club regarding sponsorship opportunities. This makes the position the head accountant of a million dollar company; ensuring thousands of transactions are properly recorded and reconciled for an expedient reimbursement process & eventual audit. They are the primary contact on the MUS to all clubs & committees that need tabling slots, meeting rooms, event space, and office access, working very closely with the Desautels building team.
