Exploring Art Workshop (SE044O) Have fun together making and learning about art! You will explore many different materials and ways to create artwork. Everyone will draw, paint, make prints, sculptures and craftwork in their own unique way. Enjoy working by yourself and with other artists to make beautiful artwork for yourself and others! Audience: Current Grades K ‐ 1 Session 1: 8:00 ‐ 10:00 Session 2: 10:30 ‐ 12:30 Tuition: $150.00 per session Art Safari Workshop (SE045O) Take a trip through the wonderful world of art! Learn how to create with a variety of media and materials, such as colored pencils, pastels, paint, clay or wood. Try your hand at print‐
making, sculpting, or designing! Work large and work small. Have a great time on an adventure into the world of art and artists. Audience: Current Grades 2—3 Session 1: 8:00 ‐ 10:00 Session 2: 10:30 ‐ 12:30 Tuition: $150.00 per session SCULPTURE AND CRAFT (SE046O) Build, carve and mold with your hands! Combine and construct to create something unique! Have creative fun with a variety of sculptural media such as clay, wood, paper, wire, recycled items and more to create terrific, three‐dimensional projects. Middle School Drawing (SE1210) Sharpen your drawing skills to prepare for upper level art classes. Learn the tricks and tools to help you draw what you see. Emphasis is on drawing correct angles, proportions, and compositional placement. You will use a variety of drawing materials, like graphite, conte, charcoal and ink. Audience: Current Grades 6—8 Session 1: 8:00 ‐ 10:00 Tuition: $150.00 per session New! Middle school Painting (SE1290) Learn to paint like a pro! Learn to mix and match colors to paint several beautiful compositions and arrangements. Build your art portfolio and prepare for the next level of art. Students will also learn several ways to apply paint, including use of the palette knife, and have an opportunity to try a variety of paint materials. Let’s Make Music! (SE042O) “Let’s Make a Play” with Charmaine Crowell–
White (SE0250) Explore music through singing, playing instruments, moving and listening while learning music concepts and skills. A culminating performance will be presented. This class is designed for students in grades 2‐5 who want to learn to imagine. The class focuses on movement, theatre games, diction, stage presence and improvisation. Drama text will be based on fairytales and other classic children’s literature. Audience: Current Grades K ‐ 2 Session 1: 8:00 ‐ 10:00 Session 2: 10:30 ‐ 12:30 Tuition: $150.00 per session Audience: Current Grades 2—5 Session 1: 8:00 ‐ 10:00 Tuition: $150.00 per session “Acting Out” with Charmaine Crowell–White (SE127O) This class is designed for students in grades 5‐8 who want to develop acting skills while having fun. An in‐depth look at the creative process, from developing confidence to effective use of the body, voice and the brain in the theatre arts. Students will incorporate techniques for developing scripted literature as well as improvisational scenes and monologues. Beginning Violin (SE114O) Learn to play the violin and jumpstart participation in the Chesterfield County Public Schools’ orchestra program. Beginning students will learn the foundations of music reading through literature studied. Instruments will be provided. A culminating performance will be presented.
