Position Title: Summer Admissions Office Intern Dept/Office: Undergraduate Admissions Office Reports To: Undergraduate Admissions Office, Visit Coordinator/Office Manager Hours: 37.5 hours Start Date: May 18, 2015 End Date: August 21, 2015 The Edgewood College Admissions Office is seeking internship candidates for summer 2015. Edgewood College students from any major are welcome to apply. Students with junior or senior standing are preferred. The summer intern will work closely with the admissions visit coordinator and other admission staff throughout the summer to assess and enhance the overall visit experience for prospective students and families. This includes redesigning the tour route as well as developing training for campus tour guides. The intern will also assist in the recruitment of future student ambassadors. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunities to work directly with prospective students and their families, represent Edgewood College during admissions presentations at on and off-campus events, and work on marketing plans and materials promoting visit opportunities. The summer intern will assist with other projects that support the Admissions Office, including greeting prospective students and their families, answering phones and emails, scheduling individualized student visits, coordinating and supervising group campus visits, leading campus tours, and supporting the operations team with special projects. Training will be provided. Academic credit may be available. Candidates will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of the campus. A strong candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and a commitment to diversity. Experience with project and event management is preferred. Flexibility and a good sense of humor are also essential for this position. Individuals who are bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Arabic or another language are especially encouraged to apply.
