Customer Advisory: 2015 Easter Holiday Arrangements for the UK
Dear Safmarine Customer,
With Easter approaching, we would like to notify you about free time, haulage availability, our office hours during
this period and also to remind you of the Port opening hours which we advised in our March newsletter.
Import Free time
The period from Good Friday to Easter Monday, 3rd April to 6th April, inclusive will be excluded from the
calculation of the import storage free periods. However reefer plug-in costs will still apply for these days. Please
note that if the free time for a container expires before Good Friday then the four days from Good Friday to Easter
Monday will not count as additional free time.
Import haulage bookings

Wednesday 1st April is the last day before Easter for import haulage bookings. Please send your bookings
to us no later than Friday 27th March and these will be processed subject to all import restrictions being
fulfilled and haulage availability.

Tuesday 7th April will be the first day after Easter for imports to start transit inland, with Wednesday 8th
April the first available day for delivery. If you require import haulage for the 8th April, we will require
your booking by midday Wednesday 1st April and this will be processed subject to all import restrictions
being fulfilled and haulage availability.

As haulage is limited during the Easter period, please send your import haulage bookings as early as
possible and ensure that import restrictions are fulfilled (bill of lading, release authorisation, payment
etc.).
Export




Thursday 2nd April is the last day before Easter for export haulage bookings.
Tuesday 7th April will be the first day after Easter for export collections.
As haulage is limited during the Easter period, please send your export haulage bookings as early as
possible. Please check your booking confirmation for load and vessel details as we will book your cargo on
the next suitable alternative if your first choice is not available.
Office opening hours

Our office will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday and normal working hours will be resumed on
Tuesday 7th April.
Port opening times
Please refer to the below for the opening times that we have been advised by some of the UK port operators.
Felixstowe
Felixstowe Port will work throughout the Bank Holiday period. However please note the Public Holiday Premium
will apply during the following periods:

From Friday 3rd April 0700 hrs until 0700 hrs Saturday 4th April

From Monday 6th April 0700 hrs until 0700 hrs Tuesday 7th April

VBS bookings for this date/time will be available from 2359 hrs on
Wednesday 1st April (five days in advance)
