ARCHBISHOP’S MESSAGE
ON THE NEPAL EARTHQUAKE
The 7.9 magnitude earthquake
hit Nepal on Saturday April 25.
More than 7000 people have
died, 14,200 injured and 8.1
million lives has been impacted.
The devastation to property and
homes will take years of
reconstruction.
CHARIS is coordinating the
Catholic Church’s response to
this disaster. It is providing
immediate aid of $100,000.
There will be a mass in solidarity
with the Nepalese community at
12.15pm on Sunday, 10th May at
Church of St. Ignatius.
CHARIS is making an appeal for
its Humanitarian Aid Fund.
Appeal flyers and envelopes are
available from the parish.
