Non-Appropriated Fund Vacancy Announcement DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE, CA Announcement Number: 032-15 Date Issued: 04/02/2015 Closing Date: Open Until Filled POSITION: MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (Bus Driver), NA-5703-07 SALARY: $12.46 HOURLY STATUS: FLEX NO BENEFITS LOCATION: ITT/RECREATION CENTER, NAS LEMOORE AREA OF CONSIDERATION: NAS LEMOORE COMMUTING AREA DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to drive a 54 passenger bus for recreational special events and tours sponsored by MWR. Operates a bus with a capacity of 54 passengers or a 15 passenger van to predetermined specific routes, arriving at and departing at appointed scheduled times. Complies and observes all local, state and government traffic regulations and conditions, ensuring the safety of the passengers and the vehicle. Maintains trip records and or logs. During trips performs routine servicing. Reports any defects in vehicle operations, accidents, damages, traffic violations or passenger incidents. Responsible for ensuring vehicle is ready for use, makes operational vehicle safety inspections prior to departure. Assists passengers as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age. Incumbent must have a current California Driver’s license Class B w/passenger endorsement, U.S. Dept. of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate and current DMV driving record with no violations. Be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of additional forward speeds and driving wheels, the use of controls and the brakes and gear shifts when going down grades. Must be air brake certified. Must be knowledgeable in turning radius, clearances, and braking distance of the vehicle and correct following distance must have mechanical ability to be able to make minor repairs. Have a current CPR and First Aid Certificate or be able to attend first available class. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprints identifications and completion of background inquiry forms. We are an E-Verify participant.
