Responsible for
The fixed plant mechanical fitter is responsible for performing maintenance,
fault diagnosis and repairs on fixed plant utilised throughout the diamond
exploration and mining process.
Additionally the fixed plant mechanical fitter is responsible for providing
relief leadership to the maintenance team in the absence of the
Maintenance Manager.

•
Ensuring all mechanical installations, upgrades or changes to
existing equipment meet the requirements of the relevant
standards.
Development of mechanical maintenance procedures as required.
Participate in the ongoing revision of mechanical critical spares.
Maintenance of plant infrastructure
Mechanical infrastructure installation, commissioning and
upgrading
Project manage all mechanical capital works projects
Maintain mechanical infrastructure to statutory requirements
Support other staff in a co-operative manner at all times
Maintaining belt conveyors, vibrating screens, pumps, cyclones et
al.
Leading the maintenance team, in the absence of the Maintenance
Manager, by defining roles and accountabilities, setting and
communicating objectives and managing individual performance.
Monitoring the alignment of maintenance team’s effort and focus
to the achievement of business objectives.
Supervisors and Front Line Leaders are required to ensure
workplaces are kept as safe as practicable; respond appropriately
to health and safety concerns, incidents and injuries; ensure
workers are provided with sufficient instruction, training and
supervision to work safety.

Typical experience

Experience with mine site fixed plant is desirable.
Experience with a Dense Media Separation (DMS) Plant and/or Flow
Sort X-ray or equivalent is critical.

Tertiary qualification as a mechanical fitter
