4 Days of Riding and Camping in an
Amazing Place
The area known as Canyon de
Chelly is actually two canyons with
a common entry. The first day we
will do a day ride up and back into
Cayon del Meurto. This ride will be
approximately 18 miles. Our guide
will show us
ruins, petroglyphs and
pictographs along the way and
explain the history of this canyon.
We will return to the stable that
afternoon.
The second day, we will ride up to Spider
Rock and camp that night. Dinner will be
prepared for us around the campfire, and
our camping gear will be brought up to the camp site by our guides.
This will also be an 18 mile ride. When we awake the next morning
breakfast will be prepared around a campfire.
The third day, Saturday, we will ride back to
the Canyon junction, and set up camp again.
This will be a 13 mile ride. Our camping
gear will be moved by our guides. Dinner will be prepared that evening as will breakfast the next day.
On Sunday we can, if desired, ride back up Canyon del Meurto a ways before returning to the
stables around noon or so. We will ride 5-10 miles this day.
Cost per person - $775.00 which includes a rental horse and meals as described above. Slight
discount possible if you bring your own horse.
Lodging - The nights we are at the stable (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday if desired) you can
camp at the stable. We will also work out a group rate at a nearby motel.
