I would like to remind you that there is a detailed explanation on the back of the cover page on how to read the report. As it says in the report, your child’s achievement is linked to grades. Excellent (A) The student is exceeding high expectations of work at the year level. High (B) The student shows high achievement of what is expected for this year level. Satisfactory ( C ) The student is working at the year level expectation. Limited (D) The student demonstrates limited achievement for that year level. Very Low (E) The student demonstrates very low achievement of what is expected for this year level. VIRTUE OF THE FORTNIGHT COURAGE Courage is personal bravery in the face of fear. It is doing what needs to be done even when it is really hard or scary. Courage is going ahead even when you feel like giving up. Courage is needed in trying new things. It is admitting mistakes and then doing the right thing. Courage is the strength in your heart. APPLICATIONS FOR KINDERGARTEN and PRE PRIMARY STUDENTS 2016 Applications for enrolment of children entering Kindergarten and Pre primary and for children changing schools for the 2016 school year should be made by Friday, 31 July 2015 . Families can only apply to one school. Lisa Gibson Principal MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY Please ensure students have a library bag when borrowing. Students with no bag will not be able to borrow due to the number of books being damaged. WAYBRA – West Australian Young Readers Book Awards Books are now available in the Library. This is a competition that allows West Australian School Children to vote on books they have read and an opportunity to win a prize themselves. The more books they read the more chances of winning. Details have been explained to students during borrowing time. P&C NEWS P&C MEETING Our next P&C meeting will be held on Wednesday May 27th at 7:30pm in the staffroom. FACEBOOK PAGE The P&C is initiating a NMPS P&C Facebook page to share events and achievements throughout our school. This will be a private group only available to members of our school community. Attached are the guidelines that will be followed as well as the details on how to join. CHOOSE RESPECT There will be a presentation at the P&C meeting next Wednesday from Choose Respect. This is a program that is being considered to promote respect and kindness throughout the school. All parents are welcome to attend to find out more. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS Entertainment Books are available to purchase online at www.entbook.com.au/833201. Alternatively cash sales are available through admin. The cost is $65 per book. A sample is available to look at in the front office. CANTEEN New in the canteen - Olaf ice-cream $2.00 and Paddle Pop Shakey Shakes $1.50.
