Hopeful Prep - Northwest Region of US Pony Club
2015 Deary - Experience the Magic!
Hopeful Prep
June 24th to June 26th, 2015
Sponsored by Paradise Creek Pony Club
Opening Date: May 1st, 2015
Closing Date: June 10th, 2015
Who & What:
Pony Club camps, clinics and competitions got their start at the Hatley Ranch Pony Club grounds in 1967,
and we are still going strong. Three years ago, we started the Hopeful Prep, a camp open to everyone,
primarily as a way to get some experience before the Hopeful competition held Friday and Saturday. This
prep is composed of semi-private and group lessons for dressage, stadium and cross-country jumping. The
prep is open to both Pony Clubbers, and non-Pony Clubbers, and riding in the Hopeful is not required.
Come join us on this beautiful property, camping with our friends, learning and enjoying our horses.
Duration & Format of the Prep:
The prep will start in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 24th, continue all day Thursday, and conclude on
Friday morning. You are welcome to arrive after 10am on Wednesday morning, with the first lessons
beginning no earlier than 1pm. The lesson schedule will be sent to the email provided on the entry form by
Monday night, June 22nd. Wednesday and Thursday will be composed of lessons, while Friday morning is a
chance to practice dressage tests and stadium rounds in a ride-and-critique format.
We request that you sign up for no more than 2 lessons on Thursday per horse (it makes for a very full
day), and if riding more than one horse, no more than 3 lessons/rider/day. The Hopeful competition will
begin on Friday afternoon at 2pm with dressage tests. See more detail below:
Groups will be made based on rider age, ability, rating, and need.
