Call for Abstracts NRTRC Telemedicine Conference 2015 March 30 – April 1, Seattle, Washington The Northwest Regional Telehealth Resource Center (NRTRC) is seeking presentations for its fourth annual Telemedicine Conference being held in Seattle, Washington March 30 – April 1, 2015. This year’s conference theme is: “Innovation Through Collaboration”. We are seeking presentations in both the Clinical/Administrative track and the Technical track. Presenters with expertise in either of these tracks are invited to submit an abstract. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee to ensure the integrity and relevance of their content. Consideration will be given to all abstracts, but preference will be given to those that align with the conference theme of demonstrating Telehealth Innovation, collaboration or the theme, “Innovation Through Collaboration.” How to Submit an Abstract Complete the Abstract Submission Form and e-mail it to [email protected] or you can upload your submission at http://www.nrtrc.org/contact-us and choose Become a Presenter from the Reason for Contact drop-down. The form can also be found at www.nrtrc.org. Submission deadline is Midnight, August 8, 2014. Selection Criteria 1. Abstracts must be submitted using the abstract submission form. The NRTRC Conference Committee will review and select abstracts for presentations. Notifications will be sent by August 15. 2. Submissions will be reviewed and scored according to the guidelines that follow. Merit: What value will this presentation bring to the conference? The abstract should address the following considerations: • Will your presentation show how to use technology to collaborate with people, providers or patients in underserved areas? • Is the subject of your presentation in progress or will it be completed by time of the meeting? • Does the innovative or collaborative model you are presenting show attendees how to deliver services more effectively? • How will the innovation or collaboration you will discuss help attendees enhance their Telehealth operations? Clarity: Is the abstract description well written? Does it clearly, concisely, and logically convey the intent of the presentation and support the title, background, objectives, takeaways and conclusions? Innovation: Is the topic innovative? Would this presentation add to our knowledge? Has this information been presented before? Relevance: Is the topic timely and relevant to the activities, initiatives or direction of Telehealth? Will this topic be of interest to conference attendees? Non-Promotional/Commercial in Nature: Is this proposal educational in nature and non-commercial? Does the proposal adhere to ACCME standards? Proposals that are written in a manner that promotes a product, company, or service will not be considered for presentation. Important Information • Sessions are 55 minutes long. Presentations should be 45-50 minutes to qualify for CME for physicians in attendance, with a 5-10 minute wrap-up, Q&A session. • Conference Registration fees will be waived for presenters so that you may attend the conference sessions and network with other attendees. • Presenters are responsible for their own travel expenses from their home to Seattle, Washington, and their lodging and meals while in Seattle. • Abstracts must be received by Midnight (Mountain Time) on August 8. • Upon notification, speakers will have 2 weeks to confirm participation in the Conference and provide the NRTRC with necessary items such as print quality photo and short bio. • Make your presentation lively: keep the attendees excited and engaged. • Bear in mind our theme, “Innovation Through Collaboration”. Share the methods you have used to engage practitioners, payers and patients in Telehealth or to bring innovative Telehealth care to your area. • Tailor your presentation to our region, that is, a primarily rural, frequently underserved population. Show attendees how to bring telemedicine services to that population. • Share your successes and lessons learned, if attendees can avoid mistakes already made, they can move ahead faster. • Use PowerPoint® slides and graphics sparingly to augment your presentation. A laptop, projector and flip chart will be available in the meeting room. • No commercial presentations, please!
