About the Scholarship
The PEARL Foundation is an affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc., Zeta Theta Omega Chapter. This organization is
dedicated to providing educational opportunities to empower
youth and adults through scholarships. The Foundation has
recently dedicated this scholarship to the memory of the many
members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, Zeta
Theta Omega Chapter, who have passed on.
The Application Process
Please complete the application in full. Attach two letters of recommendation to
your application from two of your teachers or one of your teachers and your
counselor, a copy of your most recent report card verifying your grade point
average (GPA) and attendance, and your two page essay explaining your goals for
the future.
Criterion for the Scholarship
The student must be of African-American Descent.
The student must have at least 30 hours of community service verified by a
volunteer form.
The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
No suspensions
Two letters of recommendation (two of your teachers or one of your teachers and
your counselor)
A two page essay entitled “My Goals for the Future are…”
Your principal’s signature and your counselor’s signature
Critical Deadline
Completed application must
be received by The PEARL
Foundation by March 31, 2015.

Deadline for the receipt of the application is application is March 31, 2015.
Applications received after deadline date will not be considered for review.
Please return the completed application to your school counselor.
The Scholarship Award will be presented at your School’s Awards Assembly in May,
2015.
The actual check will be awarded upon verification of the student’s enrollment in
their selected College or University.
