The Sanctuary Lamp The sanctuary lamp burns constantly to proclaim the real presence of Jesus in the Tabernacle. This week it also reminds us to pray for the 150 victims of the Germanwings airplane, their families, and all who are affected by this tragic loss. Lord, hold our troops in Your loving hands, protect them as they protect us. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Question of the Week ? Into what specific situation where faith, hope, or love seem to have died can I go this Easter week and season to share something of the joy and peace I have experienced as gifts of the Risen Jesus? READINGS Sunday, April 5: EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD Acts 10:34a, 37-43/Colossians 3:1-4/John 20:1-9 Our first scripture reading today is a speech given by Peter and recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. In it, Peter recounts the history of Jesus’ ministry through his death and resurrection, and then speaks of the disciples who “ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.” We have that opportunity this very day and every Sunday. We too are commissioned to testify that all who believe in him will receive forgiveness of sins. Let us listen for this commission in today’s sacred scriptures. Sunday, April 12: SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER – DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY Acts 4:32-35/1 John 5:1-6/John 20:19-31 Christ is risen, truly risen! On this, the central feast day of the Church, we come dressed in Easter finery, filled with the hope of new life. As we proclaim God’s word, renew our baptismal promises, and join together in the great Eucharistic feast, let us be inspired to go forth into our lives proclaiming the marvelous deeds that God has done for us. At olgteen, we strive to invite young people into a relationship with the person of Jesus Christ and the Communion of His Church. We accomplish this through dynamic and engaging catechesis, the nourishment of Sacraments, scripture, and daily prayer. By providing a Christian environment with sound fellowship, we allow the flourishing of one's spirituality and the blossoming of their identity in Christ. SUNDAYS 5:00-7:00 P.M.
