Prayer Requests
In Pope Francis’ Book – The Church of Mercy – he
says to every one of us, “Be servants of communion and
of the culture of encounters. I would like you to be almost
obsessed about this. Be so without being presumptuous,
imposing ‘our truths,’ but rather be guided by the humble yet
joyful certainty of those who have been found, touched and
transformed by the Truth who is Christ, ever to be proclaimed
(see Luke 24:13-55).” Simply this means get excited about
your faith and show it in all you do, think and say.
Please keep Joanne Clark, Virginia Brinkman, Tina
Schrader, Annette Caulfield, Jim Geile, William Larger,
Denis Berger, Rachel Sammons, Mary Daugherty, Wetzel
Family, Bro. Tim Cahill, Bill Howard, Michael Sammons,
Mary (Wenclewicz) Will, Al Larger, Elizabeth Hewitt, Diane
Gooch, Larry DeCarlo, Paul Flanagan, Juanita Evers,
Susan Cwiklik, Richard Jackowski and Geraldine Slattery
in your prayers.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
MARCH 22, 2015
Mutual Interest of the 4 Parishes
FROM THE DESK OF FR. ROBERT – Father Simone is
currently away from the parishes on medical leave. Father
Simone has had his fair share of medical issues and is now in
need of time to address them. We know that there are many
rumors floating around. The truth is that Father Simone is off
addressing health issues. Fr. Robert and the parish staff have
parish life well in hand and things will continue as close to
normal as we can manage. Please keep Fr. Simone in your
prayers.
LENTEN LUNCHEON THANK YOU – The OLR Choir and
Altar Society would like to thank everyone who joined us for
lunch on February 22. Even though this was not a fundraiser,
the donations totaled $191.00. This money will be used to help
offset the cost of other nonprofit get-togethers at Rosary. A big
THANK UOU to all of our members who supplied everything
from soup to dessert to paper products. What a blessing these
two organizations are for our Parish.
KNIGHTS OF LITHUANIA will be holding a Super Koffee Klatch
on Palm Sunday, March 29th – 12:00 noon in the Holy Cross
Church undercroft. There will be a light luncheon (donations
accepted), door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. All parishioners are
welcome to attend.

from the POND and St. Peter invited. Saturday, March 28th at

WHAT IS THE PROPER TIME FOR EASTER VIGIL? On Saturday evening, April 4, 2015, the sun will set in your diocese at
8:45 p.m. The end of civil twilight (nightfall) will occur at 8:45 p.m. The Easter Vigil celebration will begin at 9:00 p.m. at OLR.
“The entire celebration of the Easter Vigil takes place at night. It should not begin before nightfall; it should end before
daybreak on Sunday. This rule is to be taken according to its strictest sense. Reprehensible are those abuses and practices
that have crept into many places in violation of this ruling, whereby the Easter Vigil is celebrated at the same time of day
that it is customary to celebrate anticipated Sunday Masses” (Circular Letter Concerning the Preparation and Celebration
of the Easter Feasts, no. 78. Congregation for Divine Worship, January 16, 1988, quoting the Roman Missal).
According to a most ancient tradition, this night is one of vigil for the Lord, and the Vigil celebrated during it, to commemorate
that holy night when the Lord rose from the dead, is regarded as the mother of all holy vigils. For in that night, the Church
keeps vigil, waiting for the resurrection of the Lord, and celebrates the sacraments of Christian initiation. Paschale
Solemnitatis, no. 77 – (quoting Exodus 12:42; St. Augustine, Sermon 219; and the Ceremonial of Bishops)
