DearAlumni of Oxford Orphanage and The Masonic Home for Children,
For over 12 years I have had the honor to serve as a Board Member of your wonderful Home. For even
longer, I have had the outstanding honor to support this Home as a Mason. As Grand Master of Masons
in 2015 I have the privilege to serve your Home and its future once again. I consider this opportunity a
true blessing, working for The Masonic Home for Children, which is known to me and will always be
remembered as Oxford Orphanage. As Grand Master I look forward to the chance to celebrate the incredible
history of your Home this fall, together, at Oxford.
I hope that you and your family and friends are planning to attend the 5thAnnual Masonic Homecoming
Festival October 9-Il,2015.In spite of the weather, last year's celebration was one of the largest, with
more participants and activities taking place on this very special weekend. Again this year, Homecoming
starts with the annual Chip Shots for Children Alumni Golf Tournament Friday morning and a "Yard Party"
on campus that night with music, the Brunswick Stew of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 576 of
Salisbury, NC on site, and an open reception at the Cobb Center, this year honoring the 10th Anniversary
of its renovation and dedication in 2005, courtesy of the Cobb Foundation. Events synonymous with
Homecoming like the crowning of the Homecoming Queen, visits to the museum, tours of campus, and
the Homecoming Roast are all on the schedule for the weekend. Registration for alumni will return to the
Cobb Center Museum at designated hours Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11. We again have our
BBQ Cook-off, which will be held for lunch on Saturday and, again, we are looking for teams! With your
paid alumni registration you receive admission to the BBQ event and a chance to sample some of the best
pork, chicken, and ribs in North Carolina. For more information on these events or anything associated
with Homecoming Weekend, including registration, alumni parking, event tickets, and a schedule of events,
please visit the alumni website at http://oo-mhco-aa.org or the Home's website at www.mhc-oxford.org,
later this summer!
I look forward to seeing you all and returning to your Home, a place that our Masonic fraternity has
always been and continues to be proud and honored to support.
Sincerely,
Doug
