The Job
We are looking for a driven and experienced individual to join our collaborative program team. The Program Coordinator will assist the
Program Manager in planning and delivery of the programming for our first-year OppNet Fellows program (100 11th grade students),
including our intensive three-week kick-off Summer Institute (July 6 – 24, 2015), weekly workshops, panels and field trips during the school
year, one-on-one counseling, Fellows recruitment, celebratory events, program data collection and reporting, and support of other programs.

Responsibilities
 Program Coordination and Assistance
o Prepare for and facilitate 11th grade Fellows weekly workshops and the Summer Institute sessions;
o Manage 11th grade data collection and analysis;
o Assist day-to-day operations/logistics (i.e. space, food, attendance) of the 11th grade Fellows program;
o Track and reconcile relevant program expenses;
o Collaborate with full program team on all aspects of Prep and Fellows programming and special events.
 Recruitment
o Schedule and conduct informational sessions in OppNet space and at partner sites;
o Process and evaluate student applications;
o Handle communication with applicants and partners;
o Maintain up-to-date recruitment statistics throughout recruitment process.
 Event Planning
o Help plan events and trips and handle related operational tasks (i.e. transportation, security lists, site confirmation);
o Recruit volunteers from a range of industries for career exposure events.
 Student Services
o Communicate regularly with Fellows, as well as parents/guardians, regarding expectations and assignments;
o Meet with students for one-on-one check-ins and office hour sessions.
 Summer Opportunities
o Work with the internship and enrichment program staff to match Fellows with summer opportunities and support them
through the application process.
Qualifications
 U.S. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
 One to three years of work experience, preferably at a youth-focused non-profit;
 Availability and willingness to work several weeknights per week and some weekends;
 Demonstrated ability to connect with high-achieving high school and college students from underserved communities: Can lead
class sessions in rigorous but dynamic fashion; understands how to be both nurturing and demanding; appreciates boundaries, but
not afraid to push or challenge; enjoys working with and counseling teenagers;
 High comfort level working with professional executives, donors and board members; comfortable and savvy in corporate settings;
 Superb written and oral communication skills;
 Self-starter with strong entrepreneurial drive: Takes initiative; comfortable operating in growth mode and wearing many hats; can
operate self-sufficiently, but also collaboratively as part of a team;
 Strong New York networks a plus; and
 High degree of effectiveness - gets things done on a highly productive team!
