Brad L. Bauknecht is vice president and deputy general counsel at Oshkosh Defense. He is
a member of the company’s Defense Leadership Team and is responsible for providing legal
services to Oshkosh Defense.
Bauknecht joined Oshkosh in 1990 as corporate counsel and compliance manager, and since then
has assumed roles of increasing responsibility. He established practices to support the company’s
government contracts, corporate compliance, intellectual property and international sales programs.
Before joining the Company, Bauknecht practiced privately in the fields of medical malpractice and
insurance defense litigation.
Bauknecht earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from George Williams College in Downers
Grove, Illinois and his Juris Doctor in 1986 from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison,
Wisconsin. He was a published member of the Wisconsin International Law Journal and, following
law school, served a one-year judicial clerkship with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
Bauknecht is active in the Manufacturers Alliance Government Contracts Council, is a member of
the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and has served as a member of the University
of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Business Advisory Board and Senior Executives Forum.
Bauknecht is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is admitted to practice before the Federal
District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
