Event HQ is the Dalton Village Hall (Willow Bridge Lane) at Dalton, near Topcliffe. The village lies
to the south of the Thirsk by-pass. Access the village via the A168 junction at Topcliffe, or from A19,
south of Thirsk. Turn into either Moor End Lane (signed Dalton) or Low Lane (signed Sessay,
Dalton). Please collect and return your number to the hall where the signing on sheet and results
board will be displayed. Refreshments, changing area and toilets are available but unfortunately no
showers. Please note that shoe plates are not to be worn in the main hall.
If parking in the village please be considerate to the local residents and do not park directly
outside homes or use turbo trainers in the village. Please park sensibly and do not block
entrance to rear car-park.
The start is approx. 4 miles from the HQ so allow plenty of time to get there. From HQ turn right on
Willow Bridge Lane, then next right, through centre of village towards Topcliffe. On reaching sliproad from A168 to Topcliffe, keep left, under dual carriageway then turn right and join the A19
Northbound . Continue along the A19 towards Thisk until you reach the Shell Garage. After
finishing stay on the A19 and take the slip-road back to Dalton, and Sessay. Turn off here to retrace
your route back to the HQ.
Course details. V214
Start approximately 1.8 miles north of Topcliffe village, in the slip road leading from the Shelll
garage on the A168 north bound carriageway, by a BT manhole cover just before telegraph pole no
58. Proceed along the A168/A19 for 4.33 miles to junction signposted A168 Northallerton. Follow
slip road where left (CARE) to roundabout. Take the 4th exit, signposted York, Wetherby A19
(A168), to re-join the A19 for 5.07 miles. Retrace route along the A19/A168 to finish at the drain
cover by a small asphalt area approximately 50 metres south from the exit of the A168 diner/ BP
garage (10.00 miles).
PLEASE NOTE: No parking other than officials at the start and finish.

Safety
Please carefully read the risk assessment for the course which will be displayed at the HQ. Safety,
not performance is the first priority
In the interests of your own safety Cycling Time Trials strongly advise you to wear a HARD
SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard. In accordance with
Regulation 15 junior competitors must wear protective HARD SHELL HELMETS. It is
recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a
position visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use. When riding, give
priority to traffic from your right; signal clearly to other road users the course you intend to take.
Marshals will be positioned at major road junctions, and ‘turn’ roundabouts to aid the rider and are
not there to stop traffic.
I have tried to accommodate as many special entry time requests as possible. Please have a safe
