Old AGN numbers
If you still have your AGN licence number from previous years, kindly bring your number to
any time trial. Ronell is making a table cloth for the club with these numbers. Thank-you for

Wanted: Two Oceans 2015 21.1km entries
If you have an entry for Two Oceans 21.1km 2015, but you cannot run, please contact Alexia

Sincere thank-you to all the members who kindly assisted with time
keeping and clubs tents in February.
Congratulations
 Louis Pienaar was selected for the Gauteng North team and competed in the
South African Road Running 10km Championships on 28 February. He ran 10km
in a time of 41:26 and placed 14th in the Male 40-45 category.
Time trial changes
As of February, there will be a few changes to the time trial set-up.
1. WRITE DOWN YOUR OWN NAME AND TIME - As you finish time trial, your time will be
announced by the time keeper. It is YOUR OWN responsibility to remember this time
and write your name, distance run and time on a list provided at the finish.
2. ROUTE CHANGE- Due to the movement of the club house to the lapa area on the far
side of the sports field, the time trial will now finish in this area. The start will remain, as
before, outside the tuck shop. All runners will be notified of the changes at the start of the
time trial. Both the 5km and 8 km routes will also be marked.
Loskop (18 April)
Accommodation for the away weekend to Loskop 50km and 21.1km Wild
Challenge has been booked. The cost for camping is R250 per person for
the weekend whether you would like to stay for one night or two. If you
would like to book your place in the campsite, please send your name and
proof of payment to Leon at [email protected]. There are only 2
places remaining on the campsite. Bookings will be on a first come first
serve basis.
A message from Willie: I have space for 3 people in my bakkie should anyone like to save on some
travel costs. I’m also willing to take my caravan with if there are enough people interested,
alternatively tents would suffice. Depart for Loskop on Friday afternoon 12:00 PM, return home on
Saturday, a few hours after the race. SMS Willie (081 347 5353) should you be interested.
Please remember to enter for the race – entries close on 13 March.
Magnolia Long Run (26 April)
Overkruin is assisting at the Magnolia long run by managing a water point along their 15 km
route. Helpers are required from our club in order to make this possible. If helpers would like
to run the route, they are free to do so after the initial rush of the first lap has passed the
water point. Please contact Leon telephonically at 072 390 9775 or by email at
[email protected] if you are willing to offer your time to the club on this morning.
Comrades braai (6 May)
Please join us for a braai after time trial on 6 May. We will use this opportunity to wish all of
our Comrades runners well and offer them our support. Bring your own meat along. We will
light the fires and there will be cold drinks on sale.
Kolonade Winter Wedloop (23 May)
Please save the date! Overkruin will be hosting a 5km, 10km and 21.1km race at
Kolonade Shopping Centre on Saturday, 23 May. We are going to need all hands
available on the day to make the race a success. Please make a note of this day on
your calendar and watch the newsletter for further information.
Comrades accommodation (27 May - 1 June)
A house in Ballito has been booked for the Comrades 2015 season: 6 nights
from 27 May until and including 1 June. The cost of accommodation is
R600 per person irrespective of the number of nights you wish to stay.
Bookings for the Comrades house need to be confirmed ASAP as there are
only 2 more places available. Should the demand be greater, then a
second home will be reserved as well. If not, then these open spots will be made available to other
clubs looking for accommodation. SMS Willie (081 347 5353) should you be interested in booking
your place in one of our Comrades houses in Ballito. Your place will be booked on a first come, first
serve basis according to the receipt of payment of R600. Please take note that this ‘deposit’ is
non-refundable. Please send your name and proof of payment to [email protected] in
order to secure your booking.

Time Trial
Time trial takes place every Wednesday at 17:30 at Hoërskool Overkruin. Runners may
choose between 5km and 8 km routes.
Cold drinks are available for sale at the Clubhouse after every time trial.
A ‘bring and braai’ takes place on the first Wednesday of every month after time trial. The
next time trial braai will be on 4 March.
