Sing a story:
The Princess Song
There was a princess
long ago, long ago,
long ago
There was a princess
long ago, long, long
ago
And she lived in a big,
high tower…
A wicked fairy waved
her wand…
The princess slept for
100 years…
A great big forest
grew around…
A handsome prince
came riding by…
He cut the trees down
one by one…
He took the princess
by the hand…
So everybody’s happy
now, happy now,
happy now
So everybody’s happy
now, happy now.
Other uses for music
• Time limits: Play music and say “When the
song is finished, everybody needs to stop
coloring/ sit in their chair/ finish tidying up.”
• Background music: Let children absorb
music while doing something else like
coloring or playing.
• “Show off” at home: Give parents the lyrics
or Internet links to the songs so they can
sing, too.
Run, Run, as fast as you
can!
You can’t catch me!
I’m the Gingerbread Man!
