The Prince Edward Island Brewing Company’s
Culinary Event Centre, became the starting point
for the newest branch of The Murphy Hospitality
Group - Our Catering and Events division. We have
created a beautiful venue that specializes in catering
to conventions and weddings with our high level of
service and culinary standard, we have mastered
The Experience.
This winning formula has allowed the Murphy Group
to not only continue to grow, but expand with new
ideas and projects; with 12 restaurants, 2 luxury
hotels and the newest addition, The PEI Brewing
Company, we are constantly working to be the best
Hospitality Group that Prince Edward Island has
to offer.
Our family at The Murphy Hospitality Group, have
committed to these principles and standards and
grown to a new level, allowing our possibilities to
be endless. Let us show you what we do best and
be a part of the Murphy Experience.
In May of 2012, The PEI Brewing Company opened
its doors and became a brewer and distributor of all
natural craft beer products brewed in Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island. We represent our own line
of products and the Gahan line of craft beers. Our
25,000 square foot brewery features a 50 hectoliter
brew house, a retail store, hospitality rooms, bar and
our newest addition, the event space.
KEVIN MURPHY, PRESIDENT
35 years ago, Kevin Murphy founded Murphy
Investments Ltd, where he laid the foundation for
what Murphy Hospitality Group continues to commit
to today. This foundation was built using simple,
basic principles and standards that have paved the
way for our success; Friendly, knowledgeable staff,
great food, clean and comfortable restaurants are all
key elements in the experience we create.

• The venue fee includes the following for up to 250
people: tables, banquet chairs, chair covers, linens,
napkins, plate ware, glassware (excluding champagne
flutes) cutlery, wait and bar staff, rustic barrels, street
lights, keg trees with lights
• For groups exceeding 250 people, additional items
needed for the event will come as an additional cost
to the client
• Services provided do not include, wedding/event
planning, decorating or entertainment
• MHG requires a $500.00 deposit for all events;
this deposit is to be paid at the time the contract is
signed, it is refundable up to 3 months prior to the
date or will otherwise be deducted off the final bill
• The venue fee is based on a number of guests in
attendance; MHG reserves the right to adjust the
venue fee at any time, including the day of the event,
based on a number of guests in attendance
• Security is required for all events hosted at the PEI
Brewing Company. The will be a $150.00 security
fee for all events up to 150 people. Any event over
150 people will require additional security at the
discretion of MHG management. Security staff will be
arranged through a contracted security company; no
outsourced security is allowed
• Any additional items not stated in the agreed
contract are subject to additional pricing (ie:
additional tables, chairs, linen, décor, audiovisual,
special requests etc.)
• MHG reserves the right to charge an additional
management fee at our own discretion, based on the
depth of involvement of the event
• MHG and PEIBC staff are responsible for all/only
areas regarding food, beverage and general venue
set; set up of tables, chairs, linens, table settings, bar
set up and all other general venue set up. Any and all
other set up/décor required for the event will be the
responsibility of the client
• Tear down and clean-up of personal decorations
and belongings must be completed by 9:00am on
the day following the scheduled event
• Any cards, gifts, donation set ups, personal items
etc. must be removed from the premise the night
of the event. MHG is not responsible for any loss or
damage to any of these items if left on the premise
• If there is any underage drinking at the hand of
the client or the clients guests, the event will be
shut down immediately due to Prince Edward Island
Liquor Commission Laws; and the client will be
charged a $1000.00 fine
• MHG does not provide any staging, production or
audiovisual requirements for any event. We do have
access to some of these items however they will
come as additional cost to the client
• Due to Prince Edward Island Liquor Commission
Laws, any under-age performers must sign a waiver
from the PEILCC and receive written approval
from the commission a minimum 7 days prior to
the function date in order to perform on a licensed
premise. If this form is not signed and approved by
the PEILCC 7 days prior to the function, MHG reserve
the right to deny the performer the right to play
• MHG requires the client to pay an additional
SOCAN FEE (Society of Composers, Authors and
Music Publishers of Canada), this fee is determined
based on a number of guests in attendance and if
there is dancing or no dancing

• Due to the Government of Prince Edward Island
Lottery Laws, any event conducting a lottery scheme
(ie: cash lottery, 50/50 raffle, Casino Night or Bingo)
must provide MHG with a signed and approved
application to manage and conduct a lottery scheme,
a minimum 2 weeks prior to the event. If the client
conducts any of the above lottery schemes without
written government approval, MHG reserves the right
to deny the client from selling or conducting any
of the above. As it is an offence under the Criminal
Code of Canada to conduct a lottery scheme without
a valid license, MHG may also charge the client a
$5000.00 fine for conducting these activities illegally
• All host bars are subject to 15% gratuity that will be
added to the final bill. This includes any drink tickets,
kegs, table wine, table growlers, open bars etc.
• All food prices are subject to 15% gratuity that will
be added to the final bill
• Food and beverage quotes are subject to change
prior to, during and after the function based on
consumption, number of guests, additional items
used for service, market fluctuation and item
availability
• For menus with more than one entrée choice,
MHG requires that these items be pre-ordered prior
to the event date. These choices and numbers must
be given a minimum 60 days prior to the scheduled
event date
• For menus offering more than one entrée choice,
MHG does require a list of guests names, associated
with meal choices and a seating plan are provided
a minimum 30 days prior to the function date. We
also require the client to provide name cards for each
guest with meal choices clearly stated on the back of
the card. MHG will provide the client with the proper
indicators for identification of these item
• MHG is not liable for any injuries sustained to those
responsible for decorating the venue as arranged by
the client
• MHG will not provide any equipment needed for
decorating the venue (ie: ladders, scissor lifts, fork
lifts etc.) any items needed for decorating the venue
must be arranged by the client
• Force Majeure: In the event of a natural and
unavoidable catastrophe that interrupts the
scheduled course of events, restricting MHG from
fulfilling any obligations as stated in this contract,
MHG is not responsible for accommodating another
date, any of the clients costs associated with the
rescheduling of the event, finding another venue etc.
In the event of force majeure, all deposits and fees
will be 100% refundable
• Termination: MHG reserves the right to terminate
this contract at any times based on, breach of
contract, impossibility to perform or objectionable
behaviour on behalf of the client. In the event that
the contract is terminated on behalf of MHG, all
deposits and fees become non-refundable
• Final invoicing from the event will be ready within
5 business days. Final payment of the final invoice is
due no later than 14 days from the issue date
