Welcome from Penrith City Archers
On behalf of the members of Penrith City Archers, welcome. The team at PCA have been planning this event for over 12 months. Our aim is to host a family friendly event where all you
have to think about is enjoying the archery.
Over the last 2-3 years PCA has invested heavily in the Troy Adams Archery Field. In this time
the club has grown from 70 to over 240 members, with an average of 50+ people on the
shooting line each weekend. Our success in gaining multiple NSW government grants has
seen the addition of 20+ targets, a clubhouse, toilets and the construction of the Field Course.
PCA celebrated 50 years in 2014 with a Golden Jubilee event. The event was attended by Mrs
Innal, wife of foundation President Mr John Innal. PCA is also very privileged to have Mr John
Pope, the 2nd President of PCA as an active member.
Like many clubs PCA had several homes before taking up residence at the Troy Adams Archery
Field. The Troy Adams Archery Field is named after 16 year old PCA member Troy Adams. His
sudden passing in 1985 was felt by all. PCA move to the current location shortly after Troy’s
passing, naming the field after Troy is a fitting tribute to a young life lost.
The members of PCA hope you have a great event.
Regards
The 2015 YNAC Organising Team
All events will be held at the Troy Adams Archery Field.
There is free parking on site, with parking attendants to

MATCH PLAY
The middle two distances in the Target round will be used for ranking Archers for matchplay.
The Matchplay competition will be separated

• Recurve - Under 20 & Cadet - 60M 122cm face
• Compound - Intermediate & Cub - 35M 122cm face

A 32 Player World Archery matchplay format will be used, where there is no competitor in the first round

next round.
Scoring Match Play
Recurve matches shoot 3-arrow ends, the match has a maximum of 5 ends. 3 arrows are added together
and the archer with the highest score wins that end and is awarded 2 points. If the scores are tied, the
end is tied and each archer receives 1 point. The first archer to 6 points wins the match. After 5 ends if the
scores are tied a single arrow shoot-off with the archer with the highest score will wining the match or, if
the same score is shot by both archers, the archer with the arrow closest to the centre will win the match.
Compound matches shoot five, 3-arrow ends. Scoring is cumulative, the archer with the highest score after
five ends wins the match. After 5 ends if the scores are tied a single arrow shoot-off the archer with the
highest score will win the match or, if the same score is shot by both archers, the archer with the arrow
closest to the centre will win the match.
Dress Code: Archery Australia Rule 7.11
Archers are encouraged to wear their club or sponsors uniform
FIELD - Nigel Matthews Field Course
There has been a Field Course set-out in the tree line of Wianamatta or South Creek
several times over the last 25 years. Youth Nationals were held at this same venue in
the 80s’. In 2012 a vision to create a permanent Field Course took hold and with the
support of Penrith City Council and the NSW Government the members of PCA built
the permanent Field Course in April of 2013.
356,800+ Arrows over 5 days
South Creek is home to many and very special native plants, please stay on the
paths and target lanes at all times. While we are not far from the city, this is real
Australian bushland. There are spiders and snakes in the area. The snakes are starting to hibernate, however if you see one please leave it alone. There are also many
animals and birds that make their homes in the Field Course, including Bower Birds
who make their nests on the ground please look but don’t touch.
The range has been designed to international standards. Searching for lost arrows is
not permitted during the event. Please take note of where you have lost an arrow
and we will help you look at the end of the days shooting. Please leave your bow at
the end of each lane when collecting arrows.
There is one entry and exit point - via target one. There are no spectators in the
field. The course takes approximately 5 hours to shoot. You should pack a small
bag with water and snacks. Please take your rubbish with you. There is a toilet at
targets 3 & 14 but you should make sure you go beforehand. You are not permitted
to leave the course once shooting has commenced without permission of a Judge.
There are water stations at targets 3, 7 & 14.
Dress Code: Archery Australia Rule 7.11
Archers are encouraged to wear their State uniform
CLOUT
Clout will be shot in two sessions Compound in the morning session and Recurve in
the second session. Each session will be a single clout of 36 arrows.

Buckets & Penrith City Council have been very supportive of this event by completing earth works to create access for the additional clout mounds.

you need to do, play your game, but most of all have fun. Take home a
medal or not, its really all about doing something you enjoy and giving it
