THE VANDERVEEN YEARS 2005 R. Pete Vanderveen becomes dean on September 1. 2006 Vanderveen merges four departments into two and reinstates position of associate dean for research. School is featured on cover of USA Today’s business section on expanding role of the pharmacist and the impact on patient outcomes and costs. Vanderveen addresses hundreds of pharmacy educators from Asia and Australia at fourth National Conference on Pharmacy Education in Taiwan in June. Vanderveen leads delegation to discuss pharmacy initiatives on Capitol Hill. 2010 Op-ed penned by Vanderveen appears in The Wall Street Journal. USC’s SNPhA named chapter of year.
