1. Program Goals
-Prepare students for high school golf
-Use sequential, skills based instruction. We will teach essential golf skills, not a swing
method or model.
-As students become more skillful, teaching how to practice to compete.
2. Time Frame
-Sundays at 1:00 p.m. for 1 hour
-8 weeks:
-June 7th through August 2nd (no class 7/26)
3. Cost
$150 per student (payment due upon sign up)
4. Eligibility
-Students planning to participate on their school golf team
5. The Program
-Priority will be on short game (putting, chipping, and short pitching essentials) before
moving to fuller swing skills (longer pitches, irons, and metal woods)
-The Red Zone Skills test may be administered at reasonable proficiency
-The program will be administered on the practice area at PVGC
-A hierarchy of essential skills for each area will be identified and students may “pass out”
of practicing the skill during the session and move forward on the list
-Playing on the golf course after each session (beginning at 2:00 p.m.) will be strongly
encouraged. There is no additional charge for this.
-Students will be expected to practice between sessions (homework will be assigned)

Bonuses for students:
-2 baskets of range balls per week FREE for personal practice (for the length of the program)
-$80 value
