PK 1.2 pelletiser process
The production levels that can be expected through Polycykle’s machinery PK1.2
pelletiser should be between approximately 1000 - 1500kg per hour of pellets,
depending on the quality of the base material used.
The material that has already been pretreated and shredded (dried to approx 25%
humidity and shredded with a Ø15-20mm grill) is loaded into a horizontal silo
through a conveyor belt. The plastic and mineral additives are loaded into
separate containers. Both the silo and the additive containers will also act with
built-in weighing mechanisms so that a correct mixing process is carried out.
Should the additives available on the market be fairly large in size, they will need
to be put through a further pretreatment (shredding) process.
After mixing, the product is then loaded through a hopper system and perfectly
dosed onto the demetalizing belts and ballistic separation (both for ferrous and
non-ferrous particles), in order to clean the material from any metal material.
The product is then dosed into the Pelletiser where it is subsequently compacted
into plastic pellets Ø4.5mm and 8-10mm long. The pelletising occurs at 85°C so
therefore almost no emissions are made; only the residual humidity in the previously
loaded product is evident.
Once the material has been compacted it is then sent through a de-dusting and
cooling belt before being loaded into big bags of approximately 800-1000kg
each, and then placed onto individual pallets.
The material is then ready for storage and distribution.
