The MMSDA is an interdisciplinary research platform and a Public‐Private partnershiptosaveanddeveloptheuniqueecosystemoftheMaasaiMara. Itisaourambitiontobuilda20yearresearchanddevelopmentprogram,which linksthelocalcommunitywithresearchinstitutionstoensurethattheresearch outcomesarewellutilized,workswiththeprivatesectorandcreatesmeasurable andvisibleimpactthatimprovesthestatusofMaasaiMaraasthe7thWonderof theworld. TheaimoftheSummit TheaimoftheSummitistopresentanddiscussthevisionof”TheMasaiMara–a researchchallengeforthenext20years”andgetinputtothedesignofalarge researchanddevelopmentinitiativevia: o presentationsofthechallengesoftheMasaiMara(research, nationalandlocalgovernment,ICPAC,conservancies,maasai community) o casesofresearchandresearchprogramshelpingsolve conservationchallenges o inputsfromfoundationsandpublicfunders. Workshoptodevelopthe20yearresearchprogram AftertheSummitthefoundinggroupoftheMaasaiMaraScienceand DevelopmentActionwilltraveltoMaraNorthtoexperiencethechallengesofthe Marafirsthandandtodevelopaproposalfora20yearreserchanddevelopment program.
