April 28, 2015 9 Iyar 5775 Dear Hebrew Academy Community, I am pleased to announce that after an extensive search, we have hired Rabbi Moshe Schochet as the High School Principal of Judaic Studies. Under my supervision as Acting High School Principal, Rabbi Schochet will be working in close collaboration with Dr. Dara Lieber, High School Assistant Principal. In addition to the role of Principal of Judaic Studies, Rabbi Schochet will be assuming other administrative responsibilities within the school that we are very much looking forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks and months. Rabbi Schochet is originally from Fairlawn, NJ. He received a B.A. from Yeshiva University in psychology in 1999, and Semicha from RIETS in 2003. Additionally, he has an M.S. in counseling from Pace University which he received in 2008. In 2002, Rabbi Schochet and his wife Michal moved to Boca Raton as a member of the Boca Raton Community Kollel where he taught and learned with a wide range of adults and children from across the broader Boca Raton Jewish community. In 2005, Rabbi Schochet joined the faculty of Weinbaum Yeshiva High School where he has filled many roles. He is currently the Gemara department chair, School guidance counselor, and Director of Alumni Services. Rabbi Schochet's passion and energy have allowed him to develop strong and impactful relationships with his students both in and out of the classroom. He is very much looking forward to working alongside the talented team of Hebrew Academy that will take Hebrew Academy to the next level. Thank you to the Advisory Committee for all of their time and efforts in this process. Additionally, I would like to acknowledge and thank the Yeshiva University’s School Partnership (YUSP) consulting team who served as extraordinary partners throughout the entire search process. YUSP's expertise has been an invaluable resource to our school, and is an example of the critical role they play in the broader Jewish community. Finally, I want to extend a special thank you to Rabbi Avi Bossewitch, Dean of Academic Affairs, for his extensive work and instrumental role throughout the entire process. With his extensive high school experience, his stellar rapport with his students and his passion for Jewish education, Rabbi Schochet is a great addition to our administrative team. Please join me in welcoming Rabbi Schochet to the Hebrew Academy.
