Name of Program Dates Description Deadline Cost SAMS: The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science at Carnegie Mellon University June 27thAugust 8th The Summer Academy for Mathematics and Science is a rigorous residential summer experience. Students who are entering their junior or senior year and are considering careers in engineering, science and other math-based disciplines are eligible to apply. April 1st, 2015 Boston University High School Honors Program June 28thAugust 7th We consider academically motivated applicants who are entering their junior or senior year of high school in 2015. Qualified juniors need to be in Honors and/or AP courses to be considered. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades, courses taken, standardized test scores, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation Varied… Applicants applying for financial aid need to submit their completed applications by April 20, 2015. FREE! There will be no tuition, housing or dining fees for students selected to attend SAMS. Students will, however, be responsible for books, supplies, transportation and recreational expenses. Boston University Summer Challenge Program June 14June 26, 2015 July 5th 17, 2015 OR July 19 – July 31 2015 For high school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in fall 2015, Summer Challenge is a perfect opportunity to explore existing interests, investigate new topics, take classes not offered in high school, and maybe even determine a college major. The two-week residential program offers a preview of college life, while non-credit coursework allows students to concentrate on a high level of learning and achievement alongside their peers, without focusing on grades. Summer Preview students enroll in one, non-credit seminar, choosing from two exciting subjects. Each seminar is designed to be small and engage students in an intensive exploration of a specific topic through lectures, discussions, and individual and group work. The Community of Scholars offers academically outstanding students the chance to broaden their understanding of international relations by enrolling in a three-credit college class designed just for them. Students admitted to this program will sample the undergraduate experience and take advantage of what the School of International Service (SIS) has to offer.
