Call For Papers
RecPad 2015 (http://recpad2015.ualg.pt/) is the Portuguese Conference on Pattern
Recognition, sponsored by APRP (Portuguese Association for Pattern Recognition).
RecPad 2015 will take place at University of the Algarve, on October 30th, 2015. It is a
one-day conference, with an invited talk and poster sessions.
RecPad 2015 promotes the collaboration between the Portuguese scientific community
in the fields of Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis and Processing, Soft computing, and
related areas with example topics such as:
• Feature extraction, discretization and
selection
• Classification
• Ensembles and multi-classifiers
• Statistical methods
• Syntactical methods
• Hybrid methods
• Object recognition
• Biometrics
• Character recognition
• Gesture recognition
• Image description, registration and
understanding
• Image enhancement, restoration and
segmentation
• Clustering
• Machine vision
• Sensors and sensor fusion
• Intelligent systems
• Soft computing techniques
• Information theory
• Neural network architectures
• Fuzzy logic and fuzzy image processing
• Data mining and big data
• Pattern recognition applications
The works should be submitted as extended abstracts for consideration by the Technical
Program Committee. The accepted papers will be compiled and distributed only in
electronic format. The program of the conference is designed to allow travelling to Faro
in the same day of the conference (see the Travel link on the web site).
In this edition we will have and invited talk by Norbert Krüger, University of Southern
Denmark, entitled “Deep Hierarchies in Human and Computer Vision”.
It is an ideal time for socializing and sharing experiences between young and senior
researchers, showcase your work and look ahead to the future. We look forward to
seeing you in October.
