Must have a proven track record of success in teaching the English National Curriculum, (I)GCSE and the
International Baccalaureate, A level or equivalent post-16 course.

Thank you for expressing an interest in the position of Subject Teacher of Economics. We are seeking to
appoint a highly motivated Economics teacher, to work in a department of 3 other dedicated teachers. The
ideal candidate should have experience teaching IB Economics, A-Level Economics or (i)GCSE Economics
and experience teaching Business Studies at any level. This post will provide the opportunity to join a highly
successful and flourishing Business Studies department. Accounting, Business and Economics are popular
options for (i)GCSE and IB level. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with forging links with local
Businesses and can be able to put Economic theory in to practice, using real life examples. The new
applicant will be joining at an exciting time, with the creation of the Business centre in school and an ever
increasing number of students choosing to study one or two of the three subjects offered in the
department (Accounting, Business and Economics).

As a school, we attain academic results consistently above the UK average for GCSE (66% 5+
(i)GCSE at A* - C in 2014). In Economics (i)GCSE we are proud to state we achieved 100% A*- C in
2014)
We attain academic results consistently above World average for IB (33 points average in 2014). IB
Economic students achieved 6 points on average out of a maximum of 7 points.
A large number of students studying Accounting, Business and Economics at KS4 and KS5. However
still maintaining small class sizes, enabling strong teacher pupil relationships.
High standards throughout the school and the Department in particular, which is exemplified in our
student’s excellent behaviour and eagerness to learn.

(London), and various excursions in and around Bangkok.
