The National Centre for Science Communicators (NCSC) is a
pulsating science communication organisation with national
and international reach. Its members include science
communicators from varied fields of communication — print
media, television, radio, planetaria, science centres etc.
NCSC was established in January 1997 with a view to
developing science communication in India. The Centre
provides opportunities for science communicators to explore
and express their talents and creativity for better
understanding ofscience and recognises such talents.
Children's literature has been established as a classic genre in
many modern languages since mid—l9"“ century.Non—fiction
literature for children gained great importance at the
beginning of20‘“ century. Since then Creative Science Literature
for Children (CSLC) has played a historic role.Science
popularization movements have made conscious and
concerted efforts to establish the identity of CWSCwiththe next

The conference is targeted at scientists, science
communicators, aspiring science writers, students of literature
and journalism, editors, educators, teachers, B. Ed students,
illustrators, publishers and distributors, science education
centres, science librarians, funding organisations, NGOs and
research charities and other stakeholders in early science
education.

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) is a
National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental
Research (TIFR), Mumbai. The broad goals of the Centre are to
promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics
education from primary school to undergraduate college level,
and encourage the growth of scientific literacy in the country.
