The Card Processing Automation 300 (CPA300™) Instrument is
a fully automated system that integrates sample card punching,
liquid handling, and 96-well plate sealing for forensic, paternity,
and research applications.
The instrument offers:
• Automatic detection of deposited samples (saliva/blood) using a high-resolution
camera and integrated software analysis
• Camera control performed on each well before and after punching to help reduce
the risk of errors
• Traceability of samples through barcode reading

Supported card formats
The CPA300™ Instrument works with framed NUCLEIC-CARD™ sample collection devices (Copan) and FTA® cards (Whatman)
sample collection systems routinely used in forensic laboratories, and both indicating cards (saliva samples) and nonindicating
cards (blood samples).
The CPA300™ Instrument can reprocess already-punched cards.
Using the framed NUCLEIC-CARD™ sample collection devices with cleaning area:

Sample presence control: Automatic comparison between the well picture before punching (well normally empty) and after

PC hardware and software
The computer is an industrial PC embedded inside the instrument: only the 19” touch screen, mouse, and keyboard are visible to
the user. The computer has a dual-core 2.2 GHz CPU, 4 GB RAM, and a 32 GB solid-state drive. It runs on the Linux® Ubuntu®
operating system.

LIMS integration
The instrument can be connected to LIMS in order to import and export files.
