Donor Alliance is the federally-designated, Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and American
Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) accredited, non-profit organ procurement organization serving Colorado and most of
Wyoming. As a recognized leader in facilitating the donation and recovery of transplantable organs and tissues, Donor

Director of Quality Systems
The Director of Quality Systems, in collaboration with Donor Alliance leadership, monitors, promotes and implements
performance improvement while maintaining regulatory accreditation compliance as it relates to organizational goals,
objectives, services, legislative standards and work processes. The Director of Quality Systems ensures that goals are set
and measured to continuously improve practice and organizational outcomes. Serving in a leadership position, this person
is also responsible for ensuring the mission and values of the organization in order to increase organ and tissue donation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience required. (CTBS preferred). Three to five years leadership
experience in healthcare setting or regulated environment required. Two years of supervisory experience required. 3 years
quality management experience in health related field preferred. Experience with the FDA is strongly preferred. Excellent
written and verbal presentation skills required. Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not
limited to, Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook – Intermediate to Advanced skills) required which includes
reporting. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply consistent standards with flexibility for various department functions
and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality and Regulatory Affairs:
 Oversees systems for auditing, complaint management, error/accident reporting, corrective/preventative actions, and
document control.
 Oversees organization’s quality assurance system to ensure security, quality and integrity for an expedient clearance of
donor medical records.
 Assures compliance with all regulatory agencies in conjunction with appropriate leaders of the organization. This
compliance includes: data reporting, accreditations, certifications, governmental/legislative practices and specific
donation/transplantation requirements. Oversees policy and procedure development and implementation in order to
ensure organizational compliance.
 Safeguards the organization through awareness of legal and legislative trends and changes. Minimizes organizational
risk through appropriate actions.
 Oversees safety program through ensuring compliance regarding OSHA, health and safety regulations. May delegate
Safety Officer responsibilities.
Leadership / Administrative:
 Provides resources, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports, as needed, in all aspects of the Quality department,
including operational policies and internal human resources issues. Ensures knowledge transfer to staff for all technical
skills required. Provides mentoring and coaching to staff that supports and maximizes operational functioning and the
skills of staff.
 In concert with senior management, assists in development of strategic direction. Identifies, defines and prioritizes
issues that relate to quality so appropriate goals may be set in concert with organizational goals. Assists in the
development of operational, business and/or marketing plans.

Administers Quality Systems budget preparation, implementation, and monitoring to effect a well-integrated, efficient
operation.
