Compare and Contrast Technology Tools’ Used for Efficiency in Business
Assignment Overview:
In this assignment you will research different technology tools that are used in business, enter the
found information into a table to help you compare and contrast the tools, and determine which
tool(s) are most efficient (See the example on the next page).
Assignment Directions:
1. In a new MS Word document type a title “Technology in Business - add your name here”
a. Centered on paper
b. 18 pt font
c. Bold
d. Press ENTER TWICE after your title before inserting the table!
2. Change your paper to “Landscape” orientation
3. Change your margins to: Top (.50), Bottom (.50), Left (1), Right (1)
4. Save As IBT_Technology tools_Your First and Last Name in your IBT >> Unit 1 folder
5. Create a table:
A. 5 columns and 6 rows
B. Column Headings: Technology Name, Image, Area of Use, Advantages, Disadvantages
C. Font size within the chart should be 10 pt font
D. Adjust your columns accordingly
6. Research technology tools used in a business using the Internet.
7. Enter information in the table on at least 5 technology tools (do not include the provided example). Be
complete but brief on explaining the areas of use for the technology. From the information you found
determine what are advantages and disadvantages (ex: cost, limited use) of using each technology in
business or specific type of business. This will help you to determine efficiency of each piece of technology.
8. Based on your answers, determine:
A. Which technology in your opinion is the most efficient for business use? Why?
i.
Insert a comment “Most Efficient” next to the name (Hint: click after the tool name/Review tab
on the Ribbon/New Comment).
ii.
Highlight the text that explains why it’s the most efficient?
B. Which technology you think is the “coolest” (but may not be efficient)? Why? (Again, put a comment
and highlight the reasons)
9. Proofread your document. Save again.
