SACS GARDEN CLUB
HELP REQUIRED
The SACS Percy Montgomery Rugby Foundation is looking for parents to
volunteer their time on Saturday mornings at home games (only 6 home
games in 2015). If you are able to assist, please contact Grant Cooper at
[email protected]. We would greatly appreciate your assistance.
I thought I would share something that I read to the boys at the
conclusion of Headmaster’s Assembly on Thursday:
“THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN”
I would like to appeal to parents who are able to assist us with their
"green fingers" in starting up a SACS Garden Club. The club will assist
Mr Barnard, our Estate Manager, in keeping the flower beds and
gardens in good order.
If you are able to help, please come along to the Hofmeyr Hall steps
on a Wednesday from 8am till 12noon starting 22 April 2015. Zoe
Holmes, co-ordinator, can be contacted on [email protected] or
072 910 9093. A trowel and gardening gloves are optional, but a cup
of coffee is mandatory.
THIS WEEK AT SACS
Our hockey teams host Somerset College and our rugby teams
host the mighty farmers from Boland Landbou. We trust that
parental, Old Boy and school support will be great as we enjoy
the first of the exciting winter derby weekends.
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost certain you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
Best wishes to all teams and may the weekend be most
enjoyable.
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think HIGH to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can even win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
Yours sincerely
K. R. BALL
