They who were with Mary came before the dawn, found the stone rolled away from the
sepulcher, and heard the angels say unto them: Why seek ye Him as man with the dead, Who
dwells in light eternal? Behold the grave wrappings; make haste and declare to the world that the
Lord is risen, and hath caused death to die; for He is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind.

O Immortal One, when Thou didst descend into the tomb, Thou didst destroy the power of

n the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and
teach, until the day when He was taken up, after He had given commandment
through the Holy Spirit to the Apostles whom He had chosen. To them He
presented Himself alive after His passion by many proofs, appearing to them
during forty days, and speaking of the kingdom of God. And while staying with them He charged
them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said,
“You heard from Me; for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.”
So when they had come together, they asked Him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the
kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father
has fixed by His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of
the earth.”
GOSPEL: The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. John. (1:1-17)
n the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him, and
without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life
was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not

overcome it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came for testimony, to bear
witness to the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear
witness to the light.
The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and
the world was made through Him, yet the world knew Him not. He came to His own, and His
own received Him not. But to all who received Him, who believed in His Name, He gave power
to become children of God; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld His
glory, glory as of the only Son, from the Father. (John bore witness to Him, and cried, “This is
He, of Whom I said, ‘He Who comes after me ranks before me, for He was before me.’”) And
from His fullness have we all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The coffee hour this morning will be chicken and pizza potluck. Please join us for this time of
fellowship.
WELCOME to all our guests and visitors. We are delighted to have you visiting and
worshipping with us this morning and hope that you return soon. We invite you to participate in
the Divine Liturgy, but, sadly, due to the divisions in Christianity, only baptized/chrismated
members of the Orthodox Church who have made their Confession before an Orthodox
priest and prepared themselves by fasting may receive Holy Communion. Please come
forward after Liturgy to venerate the Cross and partake of the Antidoron - Holy Bread. Please
join us in the Parish Hall for Coffee Hour after the Liturgy. Also, please turn off your cell
phones and all electronic devices.

PAN-ORTHODOX LADIES TEA
The Ladies of St. Mary's Greek will host the Pan-Orthodox Tea Community Event on April 18th,
2015 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at their church. Deb Korluka is our speaker. Please mark your
calendars and we look forward to another afternoon of visiting with our sisters in Christ.
ECUMENICAL PRAYER SERVICE FOR ALL THE MARTYRS OF FAITH
Friday, April 24, 2015, marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide.
To commemorate this event, an ecumenical prayer service is planned for Saturday, April 18,
2015, 3:00 P.M., at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 239 Selby Avenue. This service, which pays tribute
to all who have been martyred, is co-hosted by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis,
the Minnesota Council of Churches and St. Sahag Armenian Church. For information call St.

MEMORY ETERNAL
We are sorry to inform you that Mary Saba fell asleep in the Lord late Wednesday morning.
Funeral plans are pending. God grant comfort to her family. May her memory be eternal!
Sophie Lyons also fell asleep in the Lord this week. The wake will be at West Funeral Home in
W. St. Paul, Monday, April 13 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., with prayers at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral will
be Tuesday, April 14 at 11:00 A.M. at St. George Orthodox Church. May her memory be eternal!
BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you would like to have an announcement published in the weekly bulletin, please note you
must submit the information by Wednesday NOON before the Sunday you desire to have it in the
bulletin. Please make sure the spelling of the names is correct.
SOCIAL HALL
Please remember, if you host a coffee hour you need to clean up the kitchen, take home the used
linens, wash and return them, wipe the tables, take out the trash bags and put them into the
dumpster. This is everyone's responsibility. Please try to help to preserve our beautiful hall.
KITCHEN USE
The Parish Council has determined that anyone wishing to use the kitchen at any time must
contact George Khoury to reserve their date and time on the kitchen calendar.
PASTA AND PASTA SAUCE COLLECTION FOR FOCUS MN
In addition to our Food Drive for Neighbors, in which we help out persons in the West St. Paul
community, we are again this year helping stock the shelves at FOCUS MN. Please donate pasta
or sauce (any type of tomato base will do; sauce, paste, or actual pasta sauce are all welcome).
Please place these items on the left side table outside the church hall and if possible label the
bag “FOCUS.”
NEIGHBORS INC
Please help replenish the food shelves of which Neighbors Inc. is one. Our neighbors, your
neighbors, everyone’s neighbors need our help. Please bring in one item each week during the
month of March: one box of Mac & Cheese, box of cereal, pancake mix, can of tuna, Ragu,
ANYTHING! The littlest thing can make a big difference. Cash donations may be made to
George Droubie or Michelle Apman. All dollars and food donated to Neighbors stays at
Neighbors. Thank you for your generosity.

The St. George Men’s club will sponsor a Pancake Breakfast in memory of Jimmy Hafiz,
Sunday, April 26, 2015. They will be serving pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, juice or coffee.

Save the Date - 5.15.15 Mark your calendars! FOCUS Minnesota will hold its annual festive
spring fundraiser on May 15, 2015 at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis.
2015 is turning out to be a very important year for us, with the mobile clinic slated to launch this
