Food for Fines 2015 - Salem Public Library
FOOD FOR FINES APRIL 2015 The Salem Public Library will be collecting “Food For Fines” from April 1st—April 30th, 2015. The program will allow library patrons to pay off fines for overdue materials with nonperishable food and personal hygiene items. Items collected will be given to the local food bank. For each donated item, $1 will be waived on outstanding fines. For example, if a patron owes $2.00, then two items are needed to waive the fine. If $2.20 is owed, then three items are needed. This program does not apply for material that is lost or damaged. The materials must be returned undamaged before fines can be waived. Collection agency accounts are encouraged to participate. However, the collection agency fee cannot be waived. Items donated must not be expired, opened, rusted, dented, or in glass containers. Library patrons without fines who wish to donate may also drop items off at the library during April. Salem Public Librar y
