Samhita Social Ventures (www.samhita.org) is a social consulting firm that works to create and facilitate
effective partnerships between companies, donor organizations, high net-worth individuals, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and social enterprises (SEs) in order to deliver enhanced social impact.
Samhita is supported by the Nadathur Group, an initiative of Mr. N.S. Raghavan, a co-founder of Infosys.
During its five years of work in the social development space in India, Samhita has provided a wide variety of
capacity building and implementation services to companies to support their corporate social responsibility
(CSR) efforts. We have helped companies shape CSR strategy, facilitated program implementation, run causerelated marketing campaigns and assessed impact created.
In addition, we work on building and disseminating knowledge around CSR theories, frameworks, regulatory
requirements, best practices and impact evaluation. Our engagement with foundations and social
organizations centers around program strategy and design, research, partner selection and implementation
support. Our efforts span most key social causes and leverage the strong connect that we have with NGOs and
SEs through an extensive database, our research and the relationships built though our work.
The opportunity
We are currently expanding our team and need specialists to handle functional responsibilities. In this context
we are looking to include team members to handle accounting and compliance functions.
Purpose of the position:
1. Ensure proper accounting and reporting of Samhita Social Ventures and other group entities
2. Understand the legal and regulatory compliance obligations for all the entities and support the
respective teams to meet those obligations.
3. Help build a team either internally or through external partners to meet the deliverables

Key responsibilities:
Accounting:
1. Build a team or appoint and manage an outsourced accounting firm responsible for day-to-day
accounting requirements of all the group entities
 Revenue, Accounts receivable, accounts payable, employee reimbursement, fixed assets
management, banking transactions and reconciliations, petty cash management
2. Monitor fund flow on a regular basis
3. Generate MIS reports to meet management requirements. For example  Project resourcing, costs, profitability
 Monthly updates on financials
 Budget v Actuals analysis and providing
4. Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audit of all entities
5. Apply and maintain exemptions and certification from Income Tax or any other government authority
Compliance:
1. Ensure compliance of the entities under all applicable laws including Income Tax, Trusts laws,
Charitable Commissioner, FCRA, etc.
2. Appear before government authorities for the group entities
3. Advice on filing appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
4. Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities
5. Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
6. Consult with attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues

Desired qualification and experience:
CA / CWA with minimum 7 years’ experience. At least 3 years’ experience in the development sector is
preferred.
