About Atma Vidya Educational Foundation (AVEF)
AVEF has practised an education centred on the
teacher-student relationship at Sri Atmananda
Memorial School. The basis for learning is a mutual
understanding between the teacher and taught and
the student’s happiness in the experience of
knowledge. The English-medium school today serves over 200
students from kindergarten through twelfth standard:
!  Affiliated with the Council for the Indian School
Certificate Examinations (ICSE, ISC) and Clonlara
School (Michigan, USA. Students who successfully
complete the required course of studies approved
by Clonlara (offered in Sri Atmananda Memorial
School) may avail of an option to receive a high
school diploma from Clonlara School (Michigan,
USA). Opened in 1987, Sri Atmananda Memorial School is an
independent, non-sectarian private school in Malakara,
Kerala, India. It aims to impart a balanced education for
the heart and mind rooted in basic Indian culture.

International Colloquium Series
Since August 2013, an annual Colloquium has
been held inviting distinguished guests from
industry, philanthropy, government and
education to have the opportunity to
experience the school’s educational approach
firsthand and exchanged ideas with the School
community and guest participants. UNESCO
has supported and participated in these
sessions since 2013
!  Location: The School and Foundation
are located in the heartland of rural
Kerala, 3 hours away from large metros
such as Kochi or Trivandrum
!  Student Background: The students
primarily live in the immediate vicinity
and are from modest to upper middle
class families and from diverse faiths
!  Our students tend to be sports
minded, active, independent, and
dynamic.
