ABOUT IIITM-K
Indian Institute of Information Technology and ManagementKerala (IIITM-K) is an autonomous postgraduate academic
institution, established by the Government of Kerala. The institute
offers six postgraduate degree programmes and one post
graduate diploma programme in e-Governance. Nested within the
finest Techno Park campus in India, IIITM-K has an enviable
academic ambience. In addition to well-qualified faculty, IIITM-K
utilizes the service of IT Professionals and Scientists from reputed
organizations. Meritorious students seeking admission to the
Master's programmes are eligible for SPEED-IT Scholarship of the

adjacent to the University of Kerala's Kariavattom Campus and is
about 8 Kms from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
Situated on the National Highway, regular bus services link
Technopark with commercial Centers, research institutions and
other urban centers.

COURSE OBJECTIVE
TARGET AUDIENCE
Every day people experience the Information Society.
Interconnected networks are touching our everyday lives, at
home and at work. However, they also provide an avenue for
malicious attackers to negate our privacy and alter our
information. Network and Information Security has emerged
as a fundamental aspect of Information and Communication
Technologies. Hence, raising awareness and understanding
on the issues involved in network and information security is of
supreme importance.
The Summer School on Network and Information Security
(NIS’13) aims at providing a forum for experts in Information
Security as well as members of the research and academic
community, to interact on cutting-edge and ground breaking
topics in Network and Information Security. NIS’13 is
organized by Indian Institute of Information Technology and
Management –Kerala (IIITM-K) in association with Indian
Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and ACM Trivandrum
Chapter.
Faculty members from institutions approved by AICTE / UGC
and individuals working in industry or R&D organisations are
eligible to attend this programme. Full time research scholars
are also eligible.

The fee covers lunch and coffee breaks. No TA/DA shall be paid
to the participants. The participants are expected to bear TA/DA
themselves. The registration fee must be paid by a DD in favour

Technopark is a nonresidential Campus. Assistance will be
provided for arranging accommodation in hostels, hotels and
guest houses near Technopark.
HOW TO APPLY
Seats are limited to 40 participants. The interested persons
have to apply online on or before April 10, 2013 at
http://www.iiitmk.ac.in/nis2013/register.php. The short listed
candidates will be informed through e-mail by April 12, 2013.
Only shortlisted candidates need to pay registration fee. The
DD should be taken in favour of The Director, IIITM-K payable at
Trivandrum.
The Shortlisted candidates should login and take print out of
Registration Form and send it along with DD to ‘The

COURSE METHODOLOGY
In addition to classroom lectures, the programme includes
discussions, laboratory sessions and assignments.
