The Swedish Business Council (SBC), in the UAE is a business group of more than 100 members, both companies and individuals.
Our mission statement is "To support and promote Swedish business interests in the UAE, and to encourage and promote relations between
Sweden and the UAE.”
The President’s lines
Summer break is soon to come
Dear members,
Time is flying and we are already approaching the warm
season in UAE.
We are looking back at the first five months of the year
with great satisfaction. Swedish Business Council is proud
to communicate that we have accomplished all our set
goals in the period including, but not limited to, offering
our members participation in Volvo Ocean Race and Arab
Health in January, New Visa application procedure
information in February, Annual General Meeting, Safety
Network and the Nordic Golf Tournament in March,
Walpurgis Day, Ambassadors Cup and Sundowners in
April, and finally Business Lunch on Tax planning in
Sweden and Round Table discussion with Dubai Chamber
of Commerce in May.
In addition, we are welcoming Centaurus International
Ltd, Swiss International Scientific School, Per-Ola
Karlsson, Melissa Demirors and Henrik Bootz as new
members of the council.
All the above is achieved through dedicated work and
commitment from our employees, members and board.
In connection with this I would like to express my
gratitude towards The Swedish Embassy, Business
Sweden and the Church of Sweden for the collaboration
and support.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all the
best during the summer, whether you are going to return
home to Sweden or stay put in UAE.
SBC will remain operational during the summer but will
not arrange any activities before September.

Celebration Sweden National Day
The National Day of Sweden is celebrated on 6 June to
the memory of Gustav Vasa being elected King of
Sweden in 1523 when Sweden becomes an
independent country. It is also to commemorate the
Form of Government in 1809.
In the UAE, we will celebrate the Swedish National Day
on the 6th of June, of course, at the Andreea’s
Restaurant at Habtoor Grand Hotel in JBR, Dubai.
The event is hosted and organized by SBC and the
Swedish Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Jan Thesleff, is
going to be the guest of honor.

enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, Swedish songs, raffles
and fish ponds for the children. Fell free to bring your
business and private friends along with you.
