In short about the five Fead projects
The presentations below are revised and shortened extracts from the summaries in each
application.
”Being healthy – the right of poor people in Sweden” from Doctors in the
world/Médécins du monde (Swedish: FRISK)
Participating women and men, boys and girls will during the project:
-
Have been offered to take part in practical support and health promotion
Together with the participating organizations and the public systems have been
strengthened in their opportunities for participation, empowerment in the long and
short run, and competence enabling them access their right to health.
The project will during its term aim for broad cooperation between civil society and the public
sector in Sweden, mainly infectious disease centers, social services and health care. The goal
is to build bridges between people both for capacity building in the Swedish society for even
better results, and to reduce prejudices and other obstacles the group meets in the Swedish
society.
”Better health” from City of Gothenburg (Swedish: Bättre hälsa)
The project's target group are women and where relevant also children. Research shows that
when it comes to dialogue on health, it is desirable from the women themselves that they are
in groups with women only so that they feel confident to share personal experiences with the
group.
The project will offer women a program that is based on a method that is inspired by the
working method of Health School conducted in an earlier European Social Fund project. The
project´s organisation will be through a partnership between the City of Göteborg, Malmö and
Stockholm, as well as several non-profit organizations.
”Digniti Omnia – a more worthy life for all” from Church of Sweden in
Växjö (Swedish: Digniti Omnia –Värdigare liv för alla)
The project will focus on strengthening the participants’ empowerment in four different areas:
society, e-inclusion, health and language. Within each area the project will produce a number
of tools and methods that can be used in the contact with each individual from the target
group. We will also offer different forms of trainings, handled by staff or volunteers, often in
the shape of study circles.

The project is a national coordination of the work that Church of Sweden is doing with the
deprived EU citizens, but with cooperation with representatives for other civil society
organizations and the public authorities.
”Make sense – Social inclusion for empowerment for EU-citizen living in
vulnerable conditions in Northern Sweden” from the Association of Local
Authorities in Western Norrland, (Swedish: Make sense – Social
inkludering för egenmakt för utsatta EU-medborgare i Norrland)
The project aims - as its name proclaims – to create through social inclusion and
empowerment better possibilities in the future for EU-citizens living in vulnerable conditions.
The activities in the project take place in meeting or gathering places in the municipalities
involved together with civil society as well as through outreach activities. The meeting places
provide social- and health-oriented information and offer education such as family planning
and the rights in their home country.
”Po drom – mobile teams” from Gothenburg Rescue mission (Swedish:
Po dorm – mobile team)
The goal of the project is to educate and empower mainly Roma EU-citizens living in
vulnerable conditions and to create a dialogue between them and the other stakeholders in
the street environment. The method is mobile teams working in the street environment and in
temporary settlements. The mobile teams will also work to support existing activities for
vulnerable EU citizens in the region and help them to help the target groups get
empowerment and skills to benefit from in the long run. The teams shall consist both of
people with the same language and cultural skills as the target group and co-workers with
relevant training and experience in field-work.
Both public and civil society organizations are involved in the project. There will be activities
in several areas of Southern Sweden. The mobile teams will be based in Gothenburg, Malmö
and Jönköping.
