Behind the Wheel
Instruction at Todd Stadium

Complete your Behind the Wheel course at Todd Stadium and
learn advanced skills not taught anywhere else: off road recovery, evasive maneuvers, emergency controlled braking, serpentine steering, emergency ABS braking, wet road skid control,
vehicle merging and passing. Students will also experience open
road, residential, bridge, tunnel and interstate driving.

Behind the Wheel is a two week course:
Week 1: Monday - Thursday and
Week 2: Monday - Wednesday
Limited to 2 participants per vehicle totaling
14 hours of driving and observation instruction.

July 6 - 9 & 13-15
July 20 -23 & 27-29
Times
6:30 a.m. - 8:35 a.m.
8:40 a.m. 10:45 a.m.
11:15 a.m. - 1:20 p.m.
1:25 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Newport News Students/Residents: $225.00
Non-Residents: $250.00
To be eligible for Behind the Wheel, students must:
• Have completed the classroom portion of driver’s
education
• Have a valid learner’s permit for 3 months or
longer
• Have completed at least half of the
driving log
