these materials are guided reading books, listening centers, mobile laptop computers, and iPad technologies.

Please Volunteer!!!
“Calling all parents, kindergarten thru 6th grade... WE NEED YOU!”
We need approximately 100 volunteers to make this a successful event. Please help us make
this a fun event by signing up to work a shift. It is a lot of fun and a great way to meet other
parents. These events are what make Scandia Elementary School great, but we can’t do it
without you!
Sign-up options:
1. Complete and turn in the form below to your child’s teacher.
2. Visit our table at the Mar. 3 and 5 conferences.
3. Sign-up sheets will be posted by March 6
near the display case at school.
Email notices will be sent out a
day or two before the carnival
reminding you of your shift.
*** Parking can be a challenge for the
2nd shift. Please plan accordingly. ***

Game Prize Donations Needed!!!
Basic Explanation of the Games Requiring Prizes:
• Cherry Tree – Hundreds of plastic chips are placed in a container. Some have numbers on them and
some are blank. Kids choose one chip. If they get a chip with a number on it, they get the
corresponding prize. Prizes might be a puzzle, stuffed animal, bubbles, action figure, etc.
• Pop Toss – Player has 3 tries to throw a ring around a pop bottle and win a bottle of pop.
• Snack Walk – This is the classic “Cake Walk” with a small twist. You can donate store bought treats
like a bag of M&M’s, Little Debbie snack cakes, bag of chips, etc.! (We can no longer accept
homemade cakes/bars).
DONATION GUIDELINE:
2 or more items for the Cherry Tree ($1 - $5 each) - Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades
2 or more 2-liter bottles of pop (we need 300+ bottles of pop) - 4th, 5th, and 6th grades
Snack Walk - All grades
Don’t have time to shop... send in a $10.00 check per child made payable to
Scandia PTO and someone on our committee will purchase the items for you!
Please drop off prizes for games or checks by Monday, March 23.
Boxes will be placed in the hallway by the office to collect items.

*Wristband allows you to enjoy unlimited games, inflatables,
BINGO, and face painting (cannot be used for food or photo
booth).

Hourly Raffle
Similar to last year we will be giving away 3 great prizes during the carnival.
Tickets will be sold the day of the carnival for $5.00/each.
Winning name will be announced in the cafeteria and you do not need to be present to win.
Tickets for each drawing will only be sold for the designated hour of that prize and the winner will be
called at the end of the hour– so your chances are good and the prizes are fabulous!
Volunteers will be walking around the school selling tickets or stop by the Tiki Hut in the cafeteria to
buy your ticket.

Kids Raffle
The Kids Raffle tickets are $1 and are available at the carnival and conferences (sold separately
and included in the unlimited wristband packets). Some of our exciting raffle items this year:

New This Year!!!
Book BINGO
Come join us in the Band and Music Room for a game of BINGO. Game
cards are free with the unlimited wristband. Otherwise each game is one
ticket. Winners will be able to pick from a selection of brand new
Scholastic books!
Photo Booth
Grab a friend for a photo session and get two identical photo strips! You
will find the photo booth in the hallway next to the gym and the teacher’s
lounge. The wristband package will include one free photo session.
Without the wristband or additional photo sessions are one ticket.
Change in Silent Auction
The Silent Auction that was previously held at the carnival will now be at
the Dala Gala social event on Friday April 245 at Stella’s in Forest Lake.
