Here you can select from the many options offered to families in Hillsborough County. Please complete this application carefully and submit by the appropriate application period deadline. For Your Information If the student is currently enrolled in a Hillsborough County Public School (HCPS): • you should apply online • and email a copy of your Active Duty military orders to [email protected]. • You will know immediately if your application was received because the online system will generate a confirmation page for you to print and retain for your records. Note: • Completion of this application does not guarantee admission. • If you are a HCPS employee and the parent/legal guardian, you should use the Education Connection Portal to apply directly online. If the student is not currently enrolled in a Hillsborough County Public School (HCPS): • you must submit a paper application • and include a copy of your Active Duty military orders. • An email confirming the receipt of your application will be sent to the email address provided on the application. Note: • Completion of this application does not guarantee admission. • If you are a HCPS employee and the parent/legal guardian, you must include your Lawson number at the top of the section for which you are applying. Hillsborough County Public Schools’ adheres to the Florida State Constitution, Article IX, Section I, and therefore, class sizes are restricted. Directions 1. A separate application must be completed for each child. 2. Families must complete all information in Section I. 3.Complete: Sections I and II for Magnet Schools and Programs. SECTION II: Magnet Schools and Programs Grades K-5 July 6-13, 2015 Magnet Schools and Programs are schools with theme-based curricula offering innovative and rigorous academic instruction by specially trained teachers in smaller learning communities. Transportation is provided to students within an identified area. Kindergarten students must be accompanied by an older sibling who lives at the same address and attends the same school, to be eligible for magnet transportation. Lawson Number: ______________ SECTION IV: Choice Hardship for an Elementary School July 6-13, 2015 Choice Hardship allows parents and legal guardians, with a documented hardship, an opportunity to submit a request for a school that is capped/not available for School Choice. Applications are only reviewed for residents of Hillsborough County. Note: Requests are not automatically approved. Choice Hardship is limited and only available under extreme (documented) hardships. Parental preference is not a hardship. Transportation is not provided. Directions: 1. Complete this section if you are requesting a Choice Hardship. 2. State below specific reasons why you are requesting a Choice Hardship. Attach a copy of your Active Duty military orders and additional documentation, if needed. 3.
