to the SRU Executive Office no later than 3/3/15. All refund
requests will be subject to a $100 processing fee. No refunds
will be made after 3/3/15.

Educational Needs & Objectives
NEEDS
Urology residents require a preparatory course to pass their board
exams and practicing physicians need to prepare for recertification or
simply to update their knowledge. The Specialty Review in Urology, The
Chicago Course has been in existence for 35 years and has prepared
generations of urologists. Many of the attendees have attended as
residents and returned either as speakers or as physicians interested
in an in-depth refresher.

The Specialty Review in Urology, The Chicago Course is a
comprehensive review of the practical aspects of all major subspecialties
of urology (including female urology, prostate cancer and prostatic
diseases, erectile dysfunction, pediatric urology and urolithiasis).
Experts are chosen for their excellence as teachers and will share
their clinical expertise to help improve performance and practice. They
guide attendees to appropriate use of medical and surgical treatment
of the urologic patient. Major emphasis is placed on the practical and
clinical aspects, diagnostic tips, techniques, pitfalls are stressed and
differential diagnoses will be covered.
Appropriate acknowledgement will be given to all supporters at the
time of the educational activity.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:
1. Review knowledge of basic science in the areas of anatomy,
physiology, pharmacology, and pathology.
2. Apply the foundation of basic sciences to urologic studies.
3. Describe the latest accepted advances in adult and pediatric
urology.
4. Distinguish between benign and malignant conditions and
select appropriate diagnostic and treatment options.
5. Describe current management of common and unusual
urologic problems.
6. Assess their knowledge level of state-of-the-art urologic
care based on a comprehensive review of the specialty and
formulate a plan for the effective study in the areas which
need further review.
7. Evaluate normal and abnormal ultrasound, CT scans, and
MR images of the urinary tract.
8. Recognize pathological manifestations of urologic disease.
9. Recognize appropriate and correct answers on exam-type
questions.
