Our school dress code stipulates that the sport uniform be worn with appropriate runners, joggers or
cross trainers, predominately black or predominantly white in colour with black or white laces. High
ankle basketball style boots, volleys, slippers, high tops or any shoes of canvas material are not
permitted. In accordance with health and safety regulations and given that sport shoes are also worn

Students are to be neat and well presented at all times:
 No visible makeup or nail polish is to be worn.
 Jewellery is restricted to a wrist watch, one set of plain studs or sleepers in the ears. Necklaces
need to be of sufficient length that they are not visible. No visible facial piercings. No other
jewellery is permitted.
 Hairstyles are to be conservative in style. Hair must be clean, tidy, and pulled back to comply with
workplace health and safety provisions. Students with long hair are encouraged to tie their hair
back.
- The only hair adornment is a white, blue, black, red or green ribbon.
- Hair colours should be natural looking. Multiple tones are not appropriate.
- Hairstyles such as mohawks and dreadlocks are inappropriate.
- Hair that is shaved around the perimeter or in unusual patterns is not appropriate.
School Hats
Students are encouraged to wear the Craigslea hat for all outdoor activities. These hats are
compulsory for Sport and HPE.
Winter
 No undershirts that are visible (at neck, sleeves or hip) are permitted. Singlets, very short sleeved
undershirts or spencers are permitted providing they cannot be seen.
 No scarves, beanies or gloves are permitted. Students may keep warm in winter with non-visible
undergarments, the school jumper or track suit.
Senior Jerseys
Year 12 students have the opportunity to purchase a senior jersey. These senior jerseys are designed
as a memento of the students’ senior year and can be worn to school during Terms 2, 3 and only on
the last day of Term 4. All other uniform expectations remain in place.
The Parents & Citizens’ Association operates a uniform shop twice a week at the
school.
The shop is located beside the main entrance of the school hall.
Non-compliance with the dress code
 A note from a parent/guardian must be produced for any infringement of the school uniform.
Students are required to present this note to their Form Teacher during Form Class. The teacher
will sign the note and record the reason in ID attend. Students who fail to have a note are issued
with a detention.
 All teachers speak to students in incorrect uniform, ask for their note, and reinforce our uniform
policy e.g. student to change into appropriate uniform, teacher to confiscate jewellery, etc.
 If the student does not comply with this process as noted above, a detention will be issued each
time they fail to comply with the dress code.
 If a student continues to be out of uniform and fails to complete this detention, this will be
considered as ‘willful disobedience’ and students may be suspended from school.
 The student may be prevented from attending or participating in any school activity that, in the
reasonable opinion of the school’s principal, is not part of the essential educational program of the
school.
Financial Hardship
 The school provides a range of solutions to assist families in financial hardship. These include
payment plans, and other approaches that can be negotiated on a case by case basis.
Application may be made in writing to the Principal should a dress code variation be required.
Appropriate documentation will be required to support the application.
