EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT JOB POSTING SD10 in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern BC is seeking a highly competent and dynamic Executive Assistant to join our district team. As Executive Assistant in our district, you will be capable of maintaining a high degree of discretion and confidentiality while functioning in an innovative environment with time-sensitive and/or political issues or projects simultaneously. It is essential as the successful candidate, that you have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to be available for evening and weekend meetings. Providing administrative assistance and support to the Superintendent of Schools, Secretary-Treasurer and the Board of Education, you will assist with planning and managing the day to day activities of a busy office and the ongoing review and development of strategic planning, policy and other documents. Providing research support, some of which may relate to sensitive material requiring a high level of confidentiality, will also fall within your scope. You will liaise with trustees, government officials, staff, community organizations and the general public, responding to requests regarding district policies, programs and events. You will play a key role in HR and Accounts Payable. Exemplary document creation/editing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software skills will be key to your success. Qualifications: Successful and extensive Executive Assistant background including accounting skills Post-secondary training in a management discipline, Business Administration, Office Administration or Communications Strong collaboration and teamwork skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills Exceptional verbal and written skills Strong technology skills with proficiency in a variety of office and education software programs, and in web site maintenance Superior proficiency in time management, record and data management Ability to adapt, flex and learn new tasks quickly Experience working positively with unionized employees Please submit your resume and cover letter, together with three professional references by email, no later than 12:00pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 to: Ms. Terry Taylor, Superintendent/Secretary-Treasurer [email protected] Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
